Navigating The Self-Pay Lot

Self-Parking-Signs

Each Self-Pay lot features a prominent sign with a pay box for your exact change. Look for the signs and you’ll also see instructions for paying for your stay.

When you pull into a self-pay parking lot, what goes through your mind?

If you’re a frequent urban visitor or work near downtown or the Stockyards, you’re probably familiar with the concept. If you’re not used to the system, it’s simple really:

  • You pull into the lot
  • You find an open space
  • As you leave your car, you make a note of the parking space number
  • Locating the self-pay sign you get out your cash, and
  • Find the sign slot with the corresponding number.
  • Folding your bill(s) you slip your money into the slot, and
  • Pack the bills into the slot with a key or the sign tool
  • You go about your business nearby

Like we said, simple huh?

However, if you’re not familiar with this commercial honor system, it may seem awkward at first. Or, you may wish there was an attendant on-site to take your money. Truth-be-told, it may take a few times to master, (remembering to carry single dollars and/or $5 bills can take a little practice to make a habit) and keeping the lot “self-pay” helps keep the cost of parking lower. We monitor the lot with frequent visits during the day (and evenings for night-time parking lots) so you may see one of our people — in the yellow shirts or blue jackets — in any given self-pay lot. Quick Park Texas does also set up monthly parking contracts as well, should you want to make it even easier Contact us to learn more..

We are delighted so many folks choose to park with us, so if you ever have any questions, comments or wish to report an issue, please contact us any time.
